Tropical Storm Bill churning off the East Coast

Tropical Storm Bill is churning off the East Coast, already the second named storm of the 2021 hurricane season for the Atlantic Basin.

According to the National Weather Service the storm is moving northeast, about 240 miles southeast of Nantucket, Massachusetts.

At this point meteorologists do not expect the storm to cause any significant damage to property. Rough surf should impact boating and fishing off the coast, but the storm is expected to dissipate sometime Wednesday.

Sill's disaster response team is carefully monitoring the tropics, and we're prepared to respond to any region that may be impacted throughout the hurricane season.

Property owners in an area that could be hit with a hurricane need to understand the risks, and take steps to be prepared. Something to keep in mind is to have a plan for how you will handle any property damage to your home or business.

Hurricane damage to your property can lead to a long and difficult insurance claim, but you do not have to take on the insurance company alone. At Sill, we offer a professional insurance claims management service for property owners.
