Record setting hurricane season is still going, are you prepared?

Record setting hurricane season is still going, are you prepared?

The 2020 hurricane season will be remembered as the most active in history, with at least 30 named storm systems in the Atlantic. The previous record of 28 happened in 2005.

Hurricane Iota exploded into a Category 5 storm in mid-November before slamming into Central America.

Several of these storms have made landfall in the United States, leaving widespread damage and destruction.

Unfortunately, the official hurricane season is not over. Hurricane season ends November 30, meaning anyone who lives in an area that may be affected needs to be prepared.

Your hurricane preparedness plan should include an evacuation route, emergency supplies, a plan for older adults, and a plan for your family pet.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends printing important documents, emergency phone numbers, and insurance information before a storm strikes.

At Sill, we recommend also saving our phone number, 800-524-0006, for help after the storm clears. Sill is the leading public adjusting firm in the country, and we're helping more than 135 property owners who have been impacted by tropical storms and hurricanes this year alone.

Hiring Sill means you'll have an expert in the insurance industry working for you to guide you through a property insurance loss claim.

Here's what we do:

  • Review your insurance policy,
  • Uncover all coverage limits and terms
  • Document your property damage and all contents
  • Schedule meetings and handle all communication with your insurance company
  • Finalize your settlement faster

In most cases, Sill can help you to receive a much larger claim settlement from your insurance company because we represent you, the property owner, not the insurance company.

Sill has an office in Orlando, and we've just recently opened another in Delray Beach, Florida. This means our team is there and even more ready to assist property owners anywhere in the gulf region.

No property or level of damage is too large for Sill, in fact, we led the largest hurricane related property loss claims in history after Hurricane Michael in 2018. A property ownership group with multiple apartment buildings saw $90,000,000 in damage, and Sill's expert team of public adjusters was there to help the company rebuild.
